She doesn't guess. She knows.
Kali runs on the largest verified dataset of dog friendly travel ever assembled, held to a verification and validation standard built for accuracy at global scale.
The largest verified dataset of dog friendly travel ever assembled
Five million trails. 120,000 venues. 3,400 emergency vets. 129 border regimes. 56 countries. Structured and verified over years into a single canonical model of what dog friendly genuinely means, place by place. It is, to our knowledge, the largest body of verified dog friendly travel data in the world. Scale is not the achievement. Scale you can trust is.
The verification and validation waterfall
Scale means nothing without rigour. Every record descends through a multi-stage waterfall before Kali can ever surface it to a guest. A record that fails any stage does not progress.
Authoritative sourcing
Records are drawn from authoritative and primary sources and our own professional assessments. Every record is stamped with its provenance from the first moment, so its origin is always known and never anonymous.
Normalisation and reconciliation
Everything is resolved into one canonical schema: trails with difficulty, elevation, distance and off-lead detail; venues with verified address and number; hotels across more than 70 data points. Duplicates are merged and conflicts reconciled.
Cross-source corroboration
Every record is checked against at least one independent second source. A claim that cannot be corroborated is held back. We never publish on a single unconfirmed point.
Human audit
Machines flag, people confirm. A sample of every batch is verified by hand by our team before it can advance. Accuracy is owned by humans, not assumed by an algorithm.
Geo-integrity and traceability
Each record resolves to a single validated location and country and carries its full provenance, so any entry can be audited and, if it ever must be, withdrawn cleanly.
Confidence scoring and sign-off
Each dataset earns a validation report and a confidence grade. Nothing is indexed, and nothing ever reaches a guest, until it clears that bar.
Verified once is not verified. We fight data decay every day.
Dog friendly travel data rots. A cafe quietly drops its dog policy, a trail bans dogs in nesting season, a 24-hour vet closes its doors. A dataset that is not re-checked fills with wrong answers, the most dangerous kind, because they still look right. So verification is not an event for us, it is a standing discipline. Records are continuously re-validated, stale entries pruned, and closures removed before they can ever reach a guest. The dataset is alive, and we work every day to keep it that way.
Safe when it matters most
For a veterinary emergency Kali bypasses the AI entirely and returns verified clinic data: name, number and distance. There is no generated answer at the worst possible moment.
Built by Roch Dog
Roch Dog is the global authority on dog friendly travel and the body behind the dog friendly hotel certification standard. This dataset is the foundation the standard itself is built on.
